Good day my family and friends! I am excited to announce my next travel destination will be Broomsfield, Colorado for my favorite charity's 4th Annual Gala!  As many of your know, Luvin Arms was created by my son Shaleen and his wife Shilpi to rescue abused and neglected farm animals with a goal of finding them safe forever homes. All of my spa tips are sent to their organization. I will report on how much you helped me to raise after the event. Thank you for your generosity and continued support!

Fall is upon us and Ayurveda considers a seasonal routine an important cornerstone of health, year around. We offer Ayurvedic consultation for helping you to balance your body during seasonal changes and/or illness. Any time the body is out of balance, we can help. Dr. Goswasmi is our resident Ayurvedic expert and 60-minute consutations are $85. Balancing the nature of your local climate with lifestyle choices that offset the potential for seasonally-induced imbalances is one of the simplest ways that you can protect your well-being

The fall brings with it a predominance of air element and prana (breath, life giving force) is abundant in the atmosphere. Autumn is dry, rough, windy, erratic, cool, subtle, and clear, and these are all qualities shared by Vata dosha. Therefore, autumn is considered a vata season. This same principle illustrates why taking a few simple steps to balance vata this fall can be tremendously beneficial.

Vata Season Lifestyle Choices

One of the most effective ways to support vata is by establishing a daily routine. Try to do the same things (wake up, exercise, eat meals, go to bed, etc.) at roughly the same times each day. Set the tone for your day by rising early, taking full advantage of the silence, stillness, and peace that are intrinsic to the early morning hours. Then, you can calm your nervous system, awaken your tissues, and ground your energy by massaging your skin with warm, organic Sesame Oil. Follow this practice with a warm, relaxing shower, leaving a coat of oil on the skin to absorb throughout the day. Steam baths and humidifiers can help to preserve internal moisture as well. Some gentle yoga, and ten to fifteen minutes of meditation will further your sense of stability and wellness. If you enjoy a little fragrance, vetiver, geranium, and citrus essential oils are very appropriate this time of year. Try to be in bed by 10 p.m. so that you get plenty of rest before dawn.

Vata Season Diet

Your diet is a powerful way to soothe vata this fall. Substantive, oily, nourishing foods that are high in protein, high in fat, brought to life with warming, stimulating spices, and served hot, will go a long way toward maintaining your internal reserves of moisture and keeping you grounded through the vata season. You’ll also want to favor the sweet, sour, and salty tastes. In general, eat mushy, soft foods and garnish them generously with ghee or oil. Breakfasts of cooked grains—like oatmeal, tapioca, cream of rice, and cream of wheat—are perfect at this time of year. Lunches and dinners that include steamed vegetables, hearty grains, soups, and stews are grounding and moisturizing. We also recommend herbal teas made from ginger, licorice, or a combination of cumin, coriander, and fennel, to help in promoting proper digestion and warmth. Ayurvedic teas are availabe to purchase at the spa.

This advanced meditation technique was developed by Master Choa Kok Sui and is aimed at achieving illumination of universal consciousness.  The phases of the meditation are: physical exercise, invoking divine blessings, relaxation/cleansing and energizing, self-introspection and inner reflection, activating the heart chakra, activating the crown chakra, achieving illumination, releasing excess energy and expression of gratitude and thanks. Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation. Nidra is a Sanskrit term meaning "sleep." In yoga, yoga nidra is a meditation practice that induces a state of deep, but conscious relaxation. The goal of yoga nidra is to achieve a state of samadhi (intense concentration), enlightenment, or bliss.

Kundalini yoga  is called the yoga of awareness and it awakens you to your full potential.  This happens through stimulating the Kundalini energy, which lies dormant at the base of your spine, causing the energy to rise up through the energy centers, or chakras, of the body.  The goal of Kundalini Yoga is to build physical vitality and increase consciousness.  Kundalini Yoga uses drishti (or eye focus), mudras (hand postures), asanas (postures), and chanting, combining all of these together, helps to increase physical healing and emotional peace.This session will include tuning in, warm ups, pranayama (breathing techniques), kriya (set of exercises), deep relaxation and meditation.  It is suitable for all ages and stages.

Bring your drums, shakers and tambourines. This is a fun and interactive workshop that is designed to move you into a different brainwave state to access deeper parts of the brain and system for healing.  Some instruments will be available.

3. Healing our Lineage Ritual

This ritual will help you recognize and heal the unconscious beliefs that you have inherited from your lineage. 

4. Heart Yoga Nidra Meditation

We will end the evening with a relaxing sound bath guided meditation to move the brain deep into delta brainwave states where we let our subconscious do the work.   

This Sister & Brother Circle is hosted by Misti C Miller, a modern day mystic. Our amazing co-facilitators are Danielle Cleary, a creative consultant and Entheo Rhythmic, a drum facilitator.

Chakra Fusion Belly Dancing Class

This class is developed for any level of dancer from beginner to experienced. It incorporates both physical and mental energy flow through belly dance moves and sequences that engage the chakra energy system. This form of dance will strengthen your core, improve flexibility and support healthy blood flow and oxygenation.  It will not only strengthen your moves and your body, but it will add to your dance technique.
