I also wish to thank everyone who came out and supported our Open House on February 9th. The evening was also a first time, full moon drum circle collaboration with The Church of Cosmic Truth. We danced, drumed, ate, drank, met new people and celebrated life! We will be offering the drum circle again on March 8th from 6-8pm. I hope you can join in on the fun.
In response to your requests, we are now offering an evening Kundalini Yoga class (6-7PM) in additon to our moring class (9-10AM) every Monday. It is a gentle class designed for any stage of physical fitness.
On March 15, from 3-6PM, I hope you will join me in celebrating the Indian tradition of the Holi Festival. Holi is popularly known as the Indian "festival of spring", the "festival of colours", or the "festival of love". The festival signifies the arrival of spring, the end of winter, the blossoming of love, and for many a festive day to meet others, play, laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships. We recommend wearing something that you don't mind getting dirty as we will be throwing colored powder as part of the fun! We also ask that you bring a vegan covered dish to share. See you there.
As always my wish for you is to become the best version of yourself. My team and I are here to support you in your jouney of health through Ayurvedic consultation, spa services and classes. Please email me at seventhwonderspa@gmail.com if there is something that I can offer that will heIp you with your health goals. I look forward to the next time we see each other and thank you for choosing Seventh Wonder Holistic Spa as your partner in wellness.

Kundalini yoga is called the yoga of awareness and it awakens you to your full potential. This happens through stimulating the Kundalini energy, which lies dormant at the base of your spine, causing the energy to rise up through the energy centers, or chakras, of the body. The goal of Kundalini Yoga is to build physical vitality and increase consciousness. Kundalini Yoga uses drishti (or eye focus), mudras (hand postures), asanas (postures), and chanting, combining all of these together, helps to increase physical healing and emotional peace. This session will include tuning in, warm ups, pranayama (breathing techniques), kriya (set of exercises), deep relaxation and meditation. It is suitable for all ages and stages.

Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation. Nidra is a Sanskrit term meaning "sleep." In yoga, yoga nidra is a meditation practice that induces a state of deep, but conscious relaxation. The goal of yoga nidra is to achieve a state of samadhi (intense concentration), enlightenment, or bliss.

Ayurvedic Guide to Spring
Spring is ruled by the kapha dosha, whose qualities are heavy, cool, soft, dense, stable, solid, and cloudy. To adjust for the season, consider the following practices:
-
Wake with the sunrise. One of the best practices to minimize the heavy quality of kapha in the mind and body is to wake with the sun (around 5:30 am this time of year). Dawn is ruled by vata and is light, clear, and subtle.
|
---|
|
|
|
-
Get moving. When kapha is dominant in the day, the muscles are strongest between 6:00 and 10:00 am. Get outside for a brisk walk or do some vigorous yoga to melt away excess kapha. Kapalabhati pranayama is a great way to stoke the fires of digestion.
-
Eat lighter foods. In the winter months, we naturally gravitate toward sweet, sour, and salty foods to mitigate the dry, light qualities of the cold season. This can cause kapha accumulation in the physical body. To lighten up, try foods that are pungent, bitter and astringent, including kale, collards, dandelion, spinach, and mustard greens; strawberries, cherries, and blueberries; fresh green peas; and barley, quinoa, and millet.
-
Got allergies? Break out the neti pot to irrigate the sinus cavities and clear out the nasal passages. Use ¼ tsp of salt with purified water, and use half a pot for each nostril. Always end your neti pot routine by massaging a little sesame oil or nasya oil into each nostril. (Do not use a neti pot if you have an active sinus infection; it is for prevention, not treatment.)
